Born and raised in Mumbai, India, Himay’s sound is heavily influenced by the legendary Roland TB-303 and a long forgotten era of dance music. He has been touring around the country for a better part of this last decade and has also had the opportunity to perform in London.
As a DJ, Himay is not afraid to play various shades of music ranging from soulful disco classics to more left-field sounds such as Acid House. He has had the opportunity to support some amazing artists such as Tama Sumo, DJ Stingray, K-Hand, Kim Ann Foxmann, Lakuti, Dauwd and Big Miz to name a few. In 2018, he made his festival debut at Far Out Left, with the likes of DJ Nobu, Mathew Johnson, Danny Daze, African Acid Is the Future among other local and international acts. He also played at BUDx Mumbai the following year. He is also the host of Disconnect, a monthly disco party in Mumbai, and a monthly radio show on Boxout.fm.
Himay launched ‘400303’ a label pushing house music with Indian influences. The first release, A House Sound of India was released to support the covid relief efort in India. Other than that, he has released music on Krunk Kulture, OCL Records and some more independent Indian labels. He has a second release scheduled on 400303 Records as well as a Vinyl release planned for the second half of this year on a well known British record label.
