Astrolayb is a former Stones Throw champion beat-battler, turned producer and electronic musician. Having spent much of his life playing various instruments in bands, working as a session musician and DJing, in 2022 I started releasing a series of singles with an electronic and breaks-inspired sound. The tracks were playlisted and played by on national radio stations such as Worldwide FM, BBC Asian Network, 6Music and Amazing Radio.

In 2023, Astrolayb successfully chosen to be part of Brighter Sound’s mentoring scheme. Following guidance from Mr Scruff, he debuted live under this new alias in November 2023.

In 2024, Astrolayb became a resident DJ Manchester at nights for Manchester-based promoter Akoustik Anarkhy.

Most recently, he has completed an audio-visual commission for Daytimers and Brighter Sound on his South Asian heritage, which he hopes to soon release.
