Born in Taiwan and raised in California, Andy Chen is an artist, musician, and visionary. From the tender age of 5, Chen picked up the violin and began his relationship with classical music and performance. Though he excelled in this space, the musician felt constrained by the limits of the classical world. He felt limited by the capacity of his singular instrument... limited by the refined, established rules of classical music. In exploration, Chen expanded his horizons through movie scores, hip-hop, ambient, and electronic music. Above all else, he felt most inspired by the House & Techno soundscape. He found comfort in the feelings of House music, rather than conventional correctness. He sought solace in Techno's cold contrasting ethos, away from the traditions of art music.

With this, Chen embraces his past experiences and re-contextualizes them for the modern dance floor. His new imprint, finé studio, aims to blend his musical background and traditional heritage to create music for the closed-eye dancers.
